LOCATION and GENERAL INFORMATION

Our resort is located in Bellapais - Kyrenia, a cosmopolitan area just five minutes away from North Cyprus's most famous beaches and about 25 kilometres - or a 20 minute drive - from the Ercan International airport or 50km - or 1 hour drive from Larnaca International airport

The Falcon's Crest is tucked-away in a peaceful location yet is only moments from the heartland of Bellapais Village. Bellapais, unchanged and unhurried since its colonial days, this enchanting village has been immortalised in the book "Bitter Lemons" by Lawrence Durrell. The centre piece of the charming village and its main attraction is Bellapais Abbey. Perched precariously on a natural terrace, the abbey stands guard over the whole of the northern coastline, and is considered to be one of the most beautiful and indeed most important Gothic buildings in the Near East.

Here, you can while away your days exploring the impressive remains of the abbey, or simply relax with a drink under the "Tree of Idleness", an ancient mulberry made famous in Durrell's Bitter Lemons, and let the world pass you by.

Ancient folklore suggests that those seated beneath this famous tree, become lazy and unwilling to work! The views from the village are superb, and from every vantage point, the plains of Kyrenia and the azure blue Mediterranean beyond, beckon and invite.

Above the abbey lies the charming village of Bellapais. Tiny lanes and narrow streets, cris-cross haphazardly away from the main square, and scattered amongst the whitewashed buildings are many excellent and surprisingly inexpensive cafes and bistros. Bellapais is an ideal haven for those seeking a calm and relaxing opportunity to sample the Cyprus of a bygone era.

North Cyprus is home to the harbour city of Kyrenia and some of the most amazing sites in Cyprus. Although many holiday makers may be forgiven for thinking that Kyrenia is just a harbour town, there really is a lot more to see and do. Filled with historical buildings, superb scenery, spectacular natural un-spoilt sandy beaches, and much more, Kyrenia makes the perfect destination for any holiday.

The calming atmosphere of this beautiful sea-front city makes holidaying in Kyrenia a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The old town of Kyrenia is filled with whitewashed buildings and the ruins of walls and towers that once protected this city from attack. Whilst the city of Kyrenia may seem quite and asleep during the day, once the sun sets the atmosphere is transformed as restaurant and tavern owners prepare for the night and the entertainment it brings.

Shopping in Kyrenia

For those who love to shop you will not be disappointed, Kyrenia offers a vast array of shopping outlets that provide everything you could possibly need from Cypriot antiques and souvenirs to designer fashions. You should also go to Kyrenia Open Market if you want to say I have been to Kyrenia. There is also an excellent range of restaurants to suit every budget and taste.

Kyrenia boasts a mild climate, surrounded by the sea to the north and the Besparmak Mountains to the south. It is the benefits of both the sea and mountain air that makes Kyrenia an ideal location for a relaxing holiday break.

Korinium Esentepe Golf and Country Club

Golf is an extremely popular and rapidly growing sport in North Cyprus. Golfers can play all year round thanks to the excellent climate with November to March being cool and easy to play in.

The Korinium Esentepe Golf and Country Club is a newly built 18 hole international golf course and is the first to be built in Northern Cyprus. This amazing golf course boasts some rather unusual features which include greens, sand bunkers, and some water hazards. The course is 7,000 meters long and is located among natural scenery, trees, and shrubs. To reduce any environmental impact that this golf course may have, two man made reservoirs were constructed to water the greens.

The golf course in totality consists of 21 holes, 18 of which are dedicated to play and a further 3 dedicated to training.

The facilities that are available to golfers at the Korinium Esentepe Golf and County Club include a 30 bay driving range, golf lessons, a clubhouse with a 200 seat restaurant and bar, and golf carts for getting around the course. The clubhouse and restaurant offer spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the five fingers mountain range.
